when i cleared my late jw dad's house out, i dumped all the books, 50 years worth of magazines--all filed in empty corn flakes boxes, congregation records..the whole damn lot went to the tip. i should have taken it all to the hall and burned the lot in the car park.

It must be extremely hard for an individual who has spent a lifetime believing something to admit to themselves that they have been misled all of those years .
Is it pride ? stubbornness ? embarrassment ? guilt ? that prevents a person from admitting that to themselves ?looking back 50 years ago--i was a young man, married--buying my first house, gave up pioneering a year before and now earning good money.
we had a new circuit servant--a young man and his wife..not much older than me. Bevan Vigo. first time i had met a circo that wasnt already one foot in the grave. he was a very likeable guy. Any Brits remember him ?
i read on here a year or 2 back that he was now at the London beth hell..along with Peter Ellis--another i remember from back then.
i wonder what those guys really think deep down. Do they know their lives have been a complete waste of time? What have they got for it ?

My wife and I have begun our fade
by James Jack ini haven’t posted in awhile.
my wife asked me after the year 2000 came and went without fanfare(because the wt organization said all the “new world” would be here within this 20th century would end), “ what would it take for you to leave the truth?”.
my reply was “ if i turn 60 in this “system of things”.

Growing old...? ive been young for almost 72 years. ~ Stan
I hate to burst your bubble, Stan, but NO ONE considers 72 to be "young".
my wife does.

Marital sex
by Tedeily inmy wife and i have always shared naked photos respectfully over the years.
being the only thing to fill that void in our relationship due to being apart.
recently my wife has become jehovah, and we’re not sure if my wife is allowed to respectfully share herself with me while i am away.

by StephaneLaliberte intoday was a beautiful day and so, decided to drive by my old town with my wife.

Ex JW of 30 years , still messed up from it
by Doubledecker inhi , this is my first post .. i left jws 30 years ago as 18 year old unbaptised youth and after the initial fallout from leaving pretty much put the whole thing in a box and buried it .. however , i am now starting to realise how much the doomsday messages and the ‘them and us’ doctrines that’s fed to you from birth has remained in my core beliefs.. how have others managed to reprogram themselves ?.
thanks for reading , have a good day .

Why can't we have a kingdom hall?
by road to nowhere ini was musing on how many small churches there are.
a single congregation made of moderate income people.
often the pastor has a job on the side.

i was a baptised teenager in the 60's..in birmingham UK. there were 3 circuits that covered the area; so about 30 congregations i imagine. very few had their own hall. most rented school halls, community buildings or anything they could find. it was the dream of most dubs to have their own halls..something to aspire to. it all started to happen in the 70's.
ive no idea how many have recently been stolen.
